Man Accused Of Stealing $600 Worth Of Items From CT Macy's

A 64-year-old man was busted attempting to steal hundreds of dollars worth of items from the Connecticut Post Mall, police said.

Officers from the Milford Police Department were called to Macy’s inside the mall at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15, where there was a report of a shoplifting incident, authorities announced on Monday, Feb. 21. 

According to police, the investigation led to the arrest of New Haven resident Gary Beckford, who was accused of stealing the merchandise and attempting to leave the store without making an attempt to pay.

In total, police said that the stolen items had a value of more than $600.

Beckford was taken into custody without incident and charged with fifth-degree larceny. He was released on an appearance ticket and scheduled to appear in court on Monday, March 14.
